Members May No Longer Delete Their Own Posts, Polls, and Threads

Due to a previous member abusing their ability to delete their own posts, the staff have decided to no longer allow members to delete their own posts, polls, and threads. Sometimes when posts are deleted, holes are left in threads, and that doesn't work well on a forum. Members are, however, still able to modify their own posts and polls. If need be, members may ask an administrator or global moderator to remove their post, thread, or poll.

I have written up a brief post on posting guidelines. On that thread, members can find more information on ways to cope with this new setting.

I apologize for any inconveniences this may cause!

do you think it's at all possible to delete one's own journals? while i think the idea of not having others delete posts in forums is fine, i think giving people the ability to start over on a journal might be in your best interest, instead of just letting it kind of disappear to the back of the forum, you know?

then again, i'm also being kind of biased since i've deleted two journals now x'D. it's just embarrassing.

Unfortunately, I doubt that's possible in settings, but I will talk to our technical administrator to find out for sure.

bummer! if it is possible, i think that's something worth considering though.

I'll check into it when I have some time :)

Edit: Took a look over this request and it's doable, I have set it up so members can remove their own Journal posts.
